A few weeks ago, lovely Lindsay

submitted an awesome piece [link] which totally intrigued me to check out the contest she drew it for!

(who's work i'm sure many of you know! <3) is holding a contest here [link] highlighting the long-standing, and very controversial, double-standard regarding female super heroes. The story behind the contest and all the suggested reading are very interesting stuff that everyone should check out!
I myself am both a fat girl AND a comic book connoisseur! so i've found the whole undertaking very interesting! I tried to really think about what a plus size girl would want to accomplish as a superhero. What would she bring to the table? How would her body type affect her super-persona and the things she accomplished? Would she have special powers? What might they be?

Anyway! This is Pigeon! My fat girl super hero. She doesn't have super strength or super speed, but she is very intelligent, techno-savvy, and can speak to pigeons. I didn't want her to be a typical super hero, because in real-life fat girls really do bring something different to the table! And those things are awesome! So i hope you all enjoy her, and if you have time, join in on this awesome contest!

HAHAHAH! -^ __^- true, fair, and true! lol! Though, i was mostly waxing poetic when i said pigeon feathers were ugly. Pigeons are my favorites and i think they're beautiful! ^ 0^ for sure! <3 if they weren't so unique and lovely, how else could i tell all my pigeon friends at house apart?!
